Google’s First Personalized Doodle

Google found a nice way to wish you a very personal Happy Birthday. If you visit Google’s homepage when you are signed in to your google account, and it’s your birthday, you’ll see a special doodle just for you, that links to your Google profile. When you go to your profile, you’ll find colorful confetti and a Happy Birthday message from the Google team.

“Because doodles are such a fun part of the search experience, we thought we’d share a fun little way Google will help celebrate your birthday. When you include your date of birth on your Google profile, you may notice a special treat on the Google homepage on your birthday (be sure to sign in). Click on the doodle for another birthday surprise,”

I think it’s a really nice personal touch from Google, even though it’s a bit scary. I believe it will be the start of personalised messages such as these, as we already see it through directed adverts when you visit a website, using data from your past searchs via the cookies stored on your PC. I like it, anyone wishing you a Happy Birthday is nice, and coming from the Google giants themselves, well that’s even more special, huh? 🙂
